"Kool Deadwood Nights"

In Deadwood, South Dakota this last weekend they held their annual "Kool Deadwood Nights".
We went up Saturday afternoon with some friends and we took our 1965 Ford Mustang Convertable. Their were lots of cars from the oldies on display all over town, as well as different people singing in concerts. They had main street blocked off and it was full of chairs with people sitting watching and listening to the concert. As we pulled into Deadwood, of coarse the parking was pretty sparse! We ended up parking up towards Lead at the MDU parking lot and walking down into Deadwood.(About 5 miles) We did inform the guys that we would be "Trolleying" back as then it would all be up hill! They had some BEAUTIFUL Old Vehichles. But due to my "more into looking" then snapping pictures I didn't come away with many pictures. A few but not many.
These first five pictures are of our Mustang. It is a 1965 Convertible that Bill and his Dad (who passed away 2 years ago) had refinished many years ago. Since this one, Bill and I and our boys refinished my Black 1970 Ford Mustang that has a 351 engine, but since have sold to my brother a couple of years ago due to lack of room to keep them all.

This next Weekend is the "Mustang Rally" in Sturgis, South Dakota I am hoping we will get to get up there for at least one day, I amm really partial to "MUSTANGS". Though I know we will be working cows and giving shipping shots and ect, but may be able to sneak in for a bit on Sat.

I won Dakota Cabins award! Whew hew...

I WON!
I was one of the winners of Dakota Cabin from Hettinger, ND awards.
I won the Poinsetta Pillow Kit that also included the book "Northern Batanical" with pattern in it and it arrived yesterday in the mail.

I have a few things to finish up and then will get it started, it is pictured on the right hand corner of the book. Very pretty.

My WINTER BLOCKS are Done..
I joined a Winter Block Swap on line and have my blocks ready to send. There are some really pretty blocks being done for this swap and am excited to see the ones I will get in return.

I really like the snowflake fabric that I used on these, mainly the white on white. It has been discontinued so am unable to get anymore of it. It sure is a pretty fabric though.
I am continuing working on my Farmers Wife Sampler Blocks. I need to get another battery for my camera so when do that I will get them posted. I also have Jen's barn blocks to get posted and pictures of so will get them up as soon as I get to town and get a battery.

Project Warmth # 25 Quilted with Leaves and My Ramblin'

I finished quilting up this Project Warmth Quilt this afternoon.
I did an allover leaf design on it and really like how it turned out. It's hard to believe I have already quilted 25 of their quilts.

Here it is already the 16th of August and the boys will be going back to school in two weeks.
I don't think I am ready for that!
They will be in Junior High this year! I know, they must grow up and move on, but it seems that the next few years will just fly right by and then they will be graduated and then going on with their own lives. hmmmm................ I guess you just take it year by year, day by day, but STILL......... a part of me wants them to remain as they are. Impossible I know.

All Over Feathers..Project Warmth # 24 Quilt Finished

Yesterday I finished Quilting up this Project Warmth Quilt. It is my 24th one that I have quilted for them. They are quite fun to do and get to practice on many different patterns. The fabric for Project Warmth Quilts are all usually from donations of fabric. Then our Guild makes the scraps and donations into something Beautiful. Quite often on backs they have to piece them to have enough fabric to do so like with this one. When completed they are given to many needs, everything from Fire Victims to the Pediatrics ward at the hospital.
