Chicken Table Topper

I just had to show this Table Runner. I think it turned out really cute!
A friend of mine Pieced this table topper for her mother.(It was her first) and then I quilted it, and my Mother Binded it and now it is ready to go to the intended Birthday Girl. She will be receiving it Thursday Night at our Guild Meeting.

I am really excited about our meeting. Once a month they pick a name and we get to request a block theme that we would like the participating members to make for us. Well, I won last months drawing, so I chose 12 1/2" Unfinished Christmas Sampler Blocks,.I can't wait to see them! I will post them tomorrow for all to see.
Goodbye for now, I am headed down to the Long Arm to put another quilt on, Hope evverybody has a Great Rest of the Week!!

Saturday

Saturday was my Birthday, How old am I you may ask?
Well, let's just put it this way I am old enough to need stronger reader glasses, and getting where I am going to need another trip to the eye Dr. to update the far away glasses. Does that help? hee hee
Anyways, Bill (my husband for those that didn't know) and I have an agreement that we buy our own gifts. Now some may say what fun is that, but this way we get what we both really want or like, and exactly what we want. Yes, we go together to get them but it works for us and there's no question about what or anything. Quite often it ends up not even being our birthdays when a item comes up so it may be early or late how ever you may percieve it but nevertheless it's there.

Anyways I have been wanting this book of "Sylvia's Bridal Sampler Elm Creek Quilts" By Jennifer Chivaverini and her reading books for quite some time. Well I have found them and now own some of them. I can't wait to start on the Sampler Quilt! I am done reading this book as of this morning and am definetly hooked!!
and 2 more
My Mom and Dad gave me this book also for my Birthday. It has really neat projects in it. In fact their is one called Prairie Point that may have to be tried yet this week.
I didn't get a picture of them before they got attacked and ate, but both my Mom and Mother-in-law made me Birthday Cakes. SoooYes! I got 2 Angel Food Birthday Cakes with 7 minute frosting and one had almonds! yummmmmmmmmmmm Can't tell their my favorite can you?
And last but not least I have needed one of these for some time but have been to cheap to purchase one. I have been using a suitcase for quite a while but decided these were on sale at 50% off and after all it was my BD so wala....... I will get to use it this wekend when head down south for a Guild Class I will be taking. There are 6 outside pocket and also two movable pouches inside, and is definetly on wheels.
It was a WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY and even got to go to the MUSTANG RALLY (that will be another post later).
I hope this find all well and enjoying their quilting and Life..............

3 1/2" Unfinished Farmers Wife Sampler Blocks #7-13

Here are some more of my Farmers Wife Sampler Blocks(Authored by Laurie Aaron Hird) I am doing my blocks paperpieced and in 3 1/2" unfinished blocks and trying to use only 30's fabrics.
They have been a lot of fun to do, and must admitt a couple were a little interesting making sure my points end up where they should be. I think I will be doing some looking for a few more solid colors to use with these also.
I am also doing a set with the 4 1/2" Unfinished Blocks but are being done in Scrappy fabrics. When done with the blocks thier will be 111 blocks. I have enjoyed the Farmers Wife Yahoo group site and also reading Laurie Hirds site with the letters from the 1920's.
(I put a quarter on one of them so you can see the size compared to it.)

Wisconsin Quilt Blocks on Barn # 34

Wowser! This one about beat me! In fact it will be up for a rerun. The Dark Triangles didn't want to fit right, it is lopsided and not liking how it turned out, so will try again tomorrow. It sure is a pretty block though, and can see this one being done in a bed size quilt.hmmmm....... I Better get it right first though before that happens. Hee hee.....

It's Official! Boredom has set in!

Ok, Well maybe not Drastic Boredom! But.... Since the twins started school this last Monday My house is sooooo........ quiet it is UNREAL!
What is a mother to do?? I guess I am so use to the constant goings on of 2 thirteen year olds that this week has just been total unnormal and now they usually get home about the same time Bill does. (unless of course Cross Country practice come in which make it even later 4 out of 5 days.)
hmmmmm..... I guess I will continue to throw out the Guild Project Warmth Quilts. It is definetly for a good cause.
I don't know on most of the quilts I quilt for Project Warmth who pieced them, though I try at our Guild Meeting to show them and sometimes people will mention that they are the ones that made it. They do get labels put on by the Gal in charge and "somehow" she remembers who has made them. I love to see how they look in the end with Binding and all.

Here is my 29th Project Warmth Quilt, I believe this is my fourth one of these little Teddy guys. They sure are cute and really like how the red border sets the red off in the panel.

On to another one I reckon. Have a WONDERFUL rest of the day!

Maple Leaves and Swirls

Here is my #28 Project Warmth Quilt that I have quilted for our Guild. The design I used is The Maple Leaves and Swirls. It was a really fun pattern to quilt and loved doing it.
