1st Quilt Quilted on my Long Arm

1st Quilts on my New Long Arm

Wow, What a beautiful day! 78* here in SD, and yet snow is predicted for the higher hills tomorrow. That's our ever changing weather...
We sure could use the moisture though.

This morning I finished quilting this little quilt. I just did an edge to edge panto and it is the 1st ever quilt I have done on my long arm. Whew hew!!!
The tension was super, I think my stitching could be a little longer but other than that I was real pleased with it. It was so much fun and hardly can wait to start another! It is one for Project Warmth which is thru the Black Hills Quilt Guild that I belong to. They are given to many different organizations including WAVI, Childrens Cancer patients, Fire Victims, the childrens pediatric at the RC Hospital, plus many more.
Most of the materials are donated, as well as the time to piece and quilt. Such a Wonderful cause.
I ordered a couple more pantos and I received them today at the post office, and am so ready to play some more.

Good Morning,
(Well almost Afternoon)

Star Quilts
Casey's Star

Carl' Star

This morning we were off to take the twins to their 4-H Archery
shoot up at Sturgis Archery. We have a wonderful group of kids that are shooting and they all are shooting Super!

I won't be getting much sewing done today, but wanted to drop in and post my two star quilts.

These are star quilts from a no pattern star that Vi Colome teaches. The colors were fabrics the boys seen and loved (tye dye & Flames) so we just used the colors inthe overall and

Their choices are very similar and I really like how well they turned out.

The quilting on the tye dye one was done by both my Mother and I on her Gammill. On the flame one the quilting was almost all done by my mother on her Gammil.

If I had to pick a favorite I would say stars and medallions are my favorites.

Well I guess I'm going to go start the wood stove and take the edge of the coolness. There predicting warm weather tomorrow I am sooooooo ready...

What a beautiful Morning!

It's looking to be a busy day. The twins have a music program this morning so will be leaving soon for there.

It has been so nice to get my Barn Blocks of the weeks caught up, as well as the Barn of the month. I still have three Guild Blocks to catch up but should have that accomplished by this weekend. I have decided that they need to be done before I get to go play on my new long arm.

I have a Paper-Pieced McCommas Beauty Quilt (pattern by Karen Stone) that need to figure out how to quilt, the top is complete and ready to be sandwiched

McCommas Beauty

so if there are any ideas out there please feel free to share them.

I am also hoping to quilt My Log Cabin Rodeo (Eleanor Burns' Log Cabin) hopefully both in the next couple of months.

This one I am doing a western panto on that have ordered.
I finished up my 2 Star quilts and will try and get them posted soon, as well as the deer quilt.

Wow! Being able to see everybodies beautiful projects, Oh the wonder of the internet!

Have a Super Day
