Ohio Quilt Blocks on Barns & "Fan"tastics Class Results "Maybe"

Here is My #6 Ohio Barn Block " Grandmothers Garden" that is being done by the "Golden Thimble". This one has an inset of Englich Paperpiecing of Grandmothers Flower.
Here is another one, and it is #8 and is called Crowns. We are getting close to putting all of these together, but I am thinking I will be adding a couple more to make the finished quilt a little bigger.

Last Saturday I took a class using the 60 degree ruler, the class was called "Fan"tastic, we had a Wonderful group of gals! We sewed strips of fabric in groups of 4 strips and then cuts them using the 60 degree ruler. Then we were to lay them out in "fan" shapes making our own design as we went. Try as I might, I could not like what my fabrics and the shapes were designing, in fact so much that it was and had been (for a day) banished as a "FUFO" (a Forever Unfinished Object). Well I dug it out again ((I hate giving up) but remember this one just wasn't working for me!) Hey, I can do this! I decided all wasn't lost, maybe I could make them into lots of little Star table Toppers, then I started putting the star sections together and below is what I have come up with so far. Hmmm...... maybe it will work after all. It is slowly growing on me.
So, I will keep playing with it and see what happens, but I do believe it has been taken out of the Forever Undone section.(I really didn't want to start one of those anyways)

It just goes to show, hang in there, something good may come of it after all.......
