I have a New Kenmore 385.19, and a Viking 400, a Singer Treadle, a Featherweight. and a Viking Ruby. In February 2010 I purchased an APQS Longarm , and Love everyone of them. I taught my 1st paper-piecing class, it was such a blast!

Design Wall Monday

This has been a slow quilting week and a half for me. I came down with this not so loving "lung hacking" cold that is trying to leave me in pieces and with NO voice. Which IS "NOT GOOD" in a house full of guys!! of With 2 of them having the big 14 Year birthday!!(ok.. maybe it's not quite that bad) but it has managed to find me rolled up in my warm cozy quilt with out much energy other than to sleep....... Anyways enough Whining..........

On my design wall I did get a few more of my 4" and 3" Farmers Wife Sampler Blocks made and hung. They are so neat to see up and together. You really must see Laura Aaron Hirds quilt and the new one she will be releasing a book on in 2011, which may be seen at: thefarmerswifequilt.blogspot.com and be sure and read some of her letters. (No I'm not an associate or anything I just think her sampler quilts are awesome!)

Here ar my 4" Farmers Wife Blocks in Scrappy Fabrics These will eventually be set on point and have sashing around them. Now to decide on the color for sashing.........
Here are my 3" Farmers Wife Blocks in 30's Fabrics . I just received a few solids and will be picking out one for the sashing on these little guys.

That's it for me folks..... That warm cozy quilt and a cup of something hot is calling again....
I hope this finds all anticipating the holidays and may your week be full of Blessings!!

  1. Oh I hope you feel better soon....there is nothing worse than lung hacking! I sure hope those guys aren't making fun of you--mine would make fun of me. Your little blocks are fabulous. There is not way I am even thinking about making them :)

  2. Take care of you!!! 14 year olds can be trouble with a capital T. I know I taught many a 14 y o male. ugh. Stay wrapped in that quilt and drink lots of warm fluids. Oh, and a little Vicks wouldn't hurt.

  3. Hope you are feeling better soon. I had it last week and it really drains you. Curl up under a quilt and rest while you can.
Love the blocks. Can't wait to see them all put together.

  5. these are great blocks. I started something along this line with batiks several years ago. Guess I need to get them out and finish them. This is an inspiration for me to finish them up. Hope you get to feeling better soon. The stuff you have is not fun.
