I discovered how fun quilting was over 7 years ago. I still sew on a Kenmore that was a graduation gift in 1981. I have a New Kenmore 385.19, and a Viking 400, a Singer Treadle, a Featherweight. and a Viking Ruby. In February 2010 I purchased an APQS Longarm , and Love everyone of them. Brother Bear and Sister Sun Block

Here is my completed block for Caroline, she requested a sampler block in fall colors. I found this pattern at quilters Cache (http://www.quilterscache.com/) /Marcia Hohn and it's name is Brother Bear /Sister Sun. I did it all in batiks and it is also paperpieced.
With the Guild I belong to in HS they draw names once a month and if your name is drew you get to choose what type of block you would like and what size. Everybody that signed up to participate makes you a version of that block. Pretty fun. This particular one, she just requested 12 1/2" unfinished, Sampler Block, in Autumn colors, and "No White" for the background, so I chose to do this one.
I really like how it turned out.
